What are the Symptoms of a Bad Brake Rotor/Disc?

The disc brake rotors of your vehicle are metal components that work with the brake pads and calipers to slow or stop your vehicle when you apply pressure on the brake pedal. The brake rotors are attached to the wheel hub so that when the brake pad squeezes against the rotors, it causes the wheels to stop turning. The rotors basically work from the friction of the brake pads, which is why they do tend to wear down or warp over time. They can either be replaced or resurfaced, depending on how worn down they are.  The following symptoms can indicate that the rotors are bad:  You hear squealing or squeaking noises while braking The brakes are vibrating or pulsing when you step on the brake pedal The rotors show grooves or score marks It takes you longer than normal to slow down or stop As soon as you notice an issue with your brakes, don't ignore it.
