The disc brake rotors of your vehicle are metal components that work with the brake pads and calipers to slow or stop your vehicle when you apply pressure on the brake pedal. The brake rotors are attached to the wheel hub so that when the brake pad squeezes against the rotors, it causes the wheels to stop turning. The rotors basically work from the friction of the brake pads, which is why they do tend to wear down or warp over time. They can either be replaced or resurfaced, depending on how worn down they are.
